I am a local artist in Minneapolis and am interested in seeing if my art would be a good fit for your studio. I do large pastel pieces that focus on women. This takes many forms in my art as I explore aspects of femininity, gender, and society. My current website is under construction but I would be happy to send you photos of my current work. Thank you for taking the time to consider my art.

Hello! The trolley driver from Art-A-Whirl, Nick Heille, just popped into SL. He was wondering what specifically Kirke and Tarnish & Gold had planned for activities this weekend. He said he would encourage trolley riders to get off on our block IF there was significant activities here, and he wants to know exactly what's going on at Kirke and Tarnish & Gold so he can hype the experience. Please feel free to email him @ nrheille@mc.net or call him @ 612-789-6527. Feel free to call me (651-224-7647 or 952-237-2153).

I am interested in showing with Tarnish and Gold. Please review my work on my website www.myritual.com and contact me if there is any oppertunity for us to work together.

If you are interested in seeing my art in person, I would be happy to open my studio for a visit or bring some work to you at your convenience. Please contact me to arrange a specific time to visit if your schedule permits. I can be contacted by phone at 612-751-9457 or email at scott@myritual.com

Thank you for taking the time to review my work.

Sincerely,

Scott West

Bio / Statement

The paintings are focused on the idea of the archetype verses environment. Often splitting self into several characters and interacting on canvas. This process reshapes reality and the perception of the environment. Scott West's current work resonates between observation and rhythm. Often depicting human and animal archetypes of raw emotion entangled in complex compositions. Saturated in color West narrates the final scene of a play often leaving you pondering what took place.

Scott West a full time painter is also live painter and full time member of the national indie rock band Cloud Cult. The process of song writing and painting developed his concept of a painting reflecting a song. Brush strokes that represent rhythm, colors depicting key signatures, and visual compositions that echo song compositions. He continues to paint full time in his studio when he is not live painting internationally with the band. His work with ArtOrg and the collaborative print project Twenty Views of Dundas is now a part of the permanent collection at The Whitney Museum of American Art. Scott West's work has been shown internationally and made an appearance painting live on the television show Last Call with Carson Daly.
